September 13, 2019
A four-person delegation from the finance department of the Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology led by Project Associate Professor Kogure of the Campus Grand Design Project at the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology and finance department director Mr. Mizobe, toured the facilities of the Tonomachi Town Campus.
At the campus meeting room, administrative director Suzuki representing Tonomachi, gave an overview of the history and activities of the Tonomachi Town Campus. This was followed by Project Professor Yoshimoto's (Organizer, JST Research Complex Program) presentation on the JST Research Complex Program. These prompted a wide-ranging opinion exchange, including explorations on furthering collaborative projects with other institutions as well as on developing on-campus initiatives. After taking in a class at the 4th floor seminar room being held as part of the beginner's course for the Wellbeing Innovation Tonomachi Edge from September 11 to September 13, and a tour of the seminar and server rooms and the Miyata Laboratory, the delegation was briefed on the potential importance of the access road for Haneda that is due to be completed in 2020 as it relates to ongoing developments at Tonomachi. The group took in scenery of the Tama River and runway B of Haneda Airport as viewed from the North Terrace during this briefing. They then toured the 3rd floor laboratory, while finally making their way to the Kawasaki King Sky Front Management Center on the 1st floor. Administrative director Suzuki led the delegation on a relaxed tour of the facilities while fielding their questions about his explanations. A meaningful time was had by all and may also prove useful in informing ongoing developments at the campus itself.
